American Peanut & Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies

If you follow my Instagram you may have seen this baby yesterday was my afternoon treat. Unfortunately for my waistline I am a HUGE fan of american inspired treats. So these cookies always go down well a treat...

To make a batch of 12 you will need...

100g/11oz Milk chocolate, broken into chunks
100g/11oz White chocolate, broken into chunks
100g/4oz Light muscovado sugar
85g/3oz Butter, softened
100g Peanut butter, crunchy
1 Medium egg
1tsp Vanilla extract (use half if your extract is extremely strong)
100g/4oz Self-raising flour

and all you need to do is follow these simple steps! Yay for baking!

1). Firstly, preheat your oven to 180C/Gas mark 4/Fan oven 160C.

2). Beat your sugar, butter, peanut butter, egg and vanilla together preferably with a wooden spoon.

3). Next, stir in your flour and half of your choco chunks.

4). Line your baking trays with greaseproof paper and drop 12 spoonfuls of the mixture onto them. Now get the rest of your chocolate and use them on top, I put one white and one milk on each.

5). Bake for 10-15 minutes, for soft cookies you want to wait until the sides begin to brown. The longer you leave them in the oven the harder they will become. Leave to cool for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool for another 20.

They taste fantastic! The hint of peanut with the powerful blast of chocolate when you hit a chunk is delicious!

Thought you might need a closer look! Thank me later ;)

Now I'm afraid these aren't as low in calories as I wish but well we all deserve an off day don't we!? What treat do you bake/buy when you're feeling naughty?
